最近Facebookを始めました。

始める前によく聞いたのが「疎遠になっていた人と連絡が取れた」か、「何年来音信不通だったのがFacebookで繋がった」とか。
でも自分の中では普段は忘れてるというか「そういやあいつどうしてるかな？」とかあんまり思わないわけです。

ところがこのFacebookを始めたとたんに友達じゃないですか？といきなり彼の名前が目に入ったんですよ。
それが今日紹介する請川賢一君です。

彼は私の自宅からも約1km圏内に住んでる超地元の後輩なんです。
中学から高校、そして大学まで陸上部で後輩という存在は彼以外いません。

彼がブログで語ってくれてましたが彼が中学から高校に進学する際になぜか私の存在が決め手になったという事でした。
それは彼が高校を通り越して日体大に行きたかったという事。その当時彼の中では同じ中学で日体大に進学した私は彼にとって「日体に行くにはこの先輩が行った高校に行くこと」だったらしいのです。

このエピソードはブログを見るまで知りませんでしたが、うれしかったというのもありますが、それで苦労の道を歩ませたかなという気もあります（苦笑）。
彼も大学卒業後、母校太成で講師をやった、ここまで経歴が同じなんですね。
そして彼のその後を私は25年間にわたり知らないままになっていました。

Facebookをやらなければそのまま忘れていたかもしれません。

それがこのFacebookで瞬時につながったわけです。

彼はあんまり上背もあるほうじゃなかったのですが、それでも大学まで砲丸投げ一筋で関東インカレにも出たくらいの努力家です。その彼が27歳でゴルフを始めてプロを目指したということ。研修生時代の超貧乏な暮らし。そしてその苦労の末にティーチングプロとして名古屋を拠点に活動してるという事。

なにからなにまで「へぇ～」「ほぉ～」「う～ん」と感嘆に値することばかりでした。
でもお互いに人を教えるという事を「教師になれなかった」かわりに競技種目は違えど求めていたのだなと感じました。
それに人に使われたくない、また人を使うのが苦手、というところまでおんなじ（笑）。

二時間たっぷりお互いの仕事のこと、昔のこと、ОBの近況などなど、語り合いました。
25年といえば四半世紀です。
その時間を超えてあっという間につながるFacebook、すごいですね。
